Shahid to go bald for Haider
The last time Shahid Kapoor
had a hair moment was with Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Kaminey' when his character Charlie's messy long hair becoming a much demanded salon staple across the country. Ironically, his next collaboration with the same director will see him without hair. It's official, Shahid Kapoor is going bald.
According to recent reports,Shahid and Vishal have been debating the drastic transformation for 'Haider', the director's adaptation of 'Hamlet'. Now, Shahid has confirmed to TOI that the duo have decided to go ahead with the bald look.
The 32-year-old's last film 'Phata Phata poster Nickla Hero , met with a tepid response, but when we met him on Tuesday evening, the actor seemed unperturbed, even as he ran his hand through his mane on every cue. It is surprising that Shahid is not worried about losing his thick crop in the coming months. "I knew it five months ago when Vishal started discussing Haider with me. All my hair is going. But it's fine. The role is so good that I don't mind shaving off my head completely."
Ask him if it is necessary to go bald for the film and Shahid, replies: "I cannot tell you the exact reason because that would give away the story. The protagonist in Hamlet may not have been bald. But Haider is an adaptation."
Come December 6, he will have another test at the box office, Eros International's 'R... Rajkumar' directed by Prabhu Deva whose films have not failed at the turnstile. Interestingly, Shahid had only seven days to make the switch from R... Rajkumar, where he plays a singing-dancing goon, to Haider, a dark revenge drama set in Kashmir. "Yes, I was nervous. But I am an actor. And fortunately, I had worked with Vishal Sir in Kaminey and I have read Hamlet. If I had to switch from Haider to R...Rajkumar, it might have been more difficult because I didn't know Prabhu Dheva's world," he says.
He adds, "Prabhu Dheva's style is very different. He doesn't want you to come prepared to the set, whereas Vishal sir wants it otherwise. The two filmmakers are like North and South. It is important to understand the vision of a filmmaker, surround yourself with knowledge and then decide how to go about it."
Though Shahid is one of the finest dancers in Bollywood, Prabhu Dheva's intricate choreography forced him to rehearse for a couple of days. "And I have also done so many stunts for the first time. I did not use body doubles but it wasn't easy. I must give full marks to the film's action director Ravi Verma. My body hurt a lot and a physiotherapist was constantly with me to take care of niggling injuries and sprains."
While Prabhu Dheva is all about spontaneity, Vishal made sure that his lead actor came well prepared for the Shakespearan flick which will release next year, Shakespeare's 450th birth anniversary. "A local actor from Kashmir stands by to correct my dialect. For example, Kashmiris don't say 'ghar', they say 'gar'. We are taking every minute detail into consideration," says Shahid. Till he shaves off his head, he is of course going to remain as possessive about his hair as always. A leading actress (on request of anonymity) had once told this journalist that Shahid runs his hand through his thick crop every five minutes.
"I love my hair, but no problem. I'll get them back again," smiles Shahid. Going back to his bald look, he says, "The shaving will be done in Kashmir. I have three - four looks in Haider. We shall complete the ones which require me with my hair first and then move on to the look which does not. It is going to be fun," he says with an impish smile.
As the interview ends, Shahid once again, languorously runs his hand through his hair.

Katrina Kaif gets perfect body for Dhoom 3
Looking her hottest best ,Katrina Kaif, has everyone raving ever since the launch of her Dhoom 3 poster that sees her sizzle in a black ensemble sporting a look and body that would have anyone going green with envy.
While Bollwood's lucky mascot makes looking good seem easy, very few know the hard work that the actress put into achieving a celluloid perfect body for the action-entertainer.
Katrina Kaif took to functional training under the guidance of Reza and even trained in pilates with Yasmin Karachiwala, which involves control, flow and concentration to develop a strong core to perform the kind of stunts the film required for over a year.
Katrina literally trained for every single day of the year as Reza and Yasmin would work with her at Joggers Park.
If that wasn't all , Katrina also trained in Aerial Straps Work with professionals from London .Aerial Acrobats involve lifting your own body weight with the help of straps.
Says a source, "Katrina Kaif has worked extremely hard on her body for Dhoom 3 and the results are for all to see. Over a year of pilates, functional training and an intense course in Aerial Straps work have challenged her limits in terms of the kind of stunts and action she has performed in the film. While expert acrobats are trained in doing Aerial stunts , Katrina managed to do them and still look flawless because of the kind of work she has put into it."

5 Biggest mistakes Kareena Kapoor has made in her career
Bollywood is one place where opportunities never knocks twice. If not
grabbed at the first call, think you’ve lost it. We have heard of
actors getting replaced by another because of whatever reasons, and our
reigning Bollywood queen Kareena Kapoor is no different.
The actress has recently confessed to have lost on several meaty roles, just because of her one silly mistake – her mood swings.
Deepika Padukon's role in Ram Leela is sure to win her a couple of awards, but did you know, Bhansali had first approached Kareena for Leela’s role?
Kareena says, “I confess that I’m mad. There have been times when I’ve signed a film and then felt it was wrong. Yes, I was supposed to do Ram-Leela but I changed my mind. I decided to do Gori… instead. With me, it’s all about the mood. There are no regrets, I’ve worked with some really good directors. I’ve missed the chance to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But there’s always a next time. I’m the only actress who can boast of giving films to other actresses.”
Okay, is she feeling insecure because of Deepika’s success, that she actually made such a comment?

Ranbir rejected by director Imtiaz
Director Imtiaz Ali may have made a Rockstar out of Ranbir, but he isn't letting friendship come in the way of his creative vision! zoOm found out that Imtiaz, though very fond of Ranbir, has rejected his request of being a part of Highway.
Sources revealed to zoOm that the star was privy to imtiaz ali's next 'Highway' and was unable to curtail his excitement. That's not all! The star also requested for a role to be specially scripted for him in the movie even if it was a cameo or a guest appearance. The heartthrob had no qualms even if the role was extremely minor as long as he was a part of the film. So what made the filmmaker refuse the star who he believes is his biggest motivation?
Given that guest appearances is the new trend in tinsel town and every flick big or small banks on it, Imtiaz seems to be determined to keep business away from pleasure. Does the visionary feel including Ranbir will overshadow the lead pair- Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda or does he feel the curiosity behind Ranbir's love life will steal the media focus during promotions?

"I don't know when we will be seen together again. As of now there is nothing in the pipeline. We both are busy with our respective films," Sonakshi said.
The actress finds Salman quite stylish. "He is very stylish, he can carry anything he wears with ease. I think the most stylish actor for me would be Akshay . Among my contemporaries, I think deepika is very stylish, she has got effortless style to her. She has got a great body and looks fantastic in whatever she wears," she added.

Kangana try to study again ! oooooooops .
Kangana
Ranaut is planning a trip away from the madding crowds of Bollywood to
New York, where she plans to take a course in screenplay writing.
Kangana Ranaut has been a busy lady, promoting two back-toback releases, Krrish 3 and Rajjo. And thanks to the Hrithik (Roshan) hysteria there were instances when Kangana was mobbed.
"I can't handle crowds, I'm craving some peace and quiet," said the actress who's planning a trip to New York.
Kangana says that the city offers her anonymity and the opportunity to continue her education. She plans to take up a course in screenplay writing and pursue sculpture making.
"I left school when I was really young and missed out on an important phase of my life. This will give me a chance to pack my bags with pencils and paints, buy books and feel like a schoolgirl again," she said.
"Even if I get away for a month it will be rejuvenating. May be some day I will write and direct my own film, but for now I just want to be on my own."
Meanwhile, married life has been keeping sister and closest companion, Rangoli busy. "I hardly get to see her, but I'm happy for her," said the actress. For Kangana though marriage is a distant dream.
"I'm complete the way I am, I have friends I never had before, and I love my own company," she insisted, already planning her escape from the country.
The getaway comes at the perfect time. Krrish 3 is a blockbuster and Kangana who has been getting rave reviews for her mutant act, can afford the break before her next film Queen catches up with her.
When producer-director Rakesh Roshan offered her the role, he admitted that any actress could play Kaya "but no one else can bring to the character what you can", he added.
For two years Kangana gave her all to the sci-fi because after playing vulnerable characters in films like Rajjo and Queen, she felt good explore a character which complimented her strong personality, passion for fashion and gave her a chance to try her action chops.
"The somersaults and sky jumps would have been fun had my designer not given me a costume made of special plastic which fitted me like second skin and could be ripped by a finger nail. I felt so naked in it and was petrified of a wardrobe malfunction. I would keep checking to reassure myself there hadn't been an embarrassing accident," she said.
The unforgiving costume also demanded that she be at her physical best.
An added worry was that in popular Indian cinema where dramatic characters are applauded, Kaya risked being misinterpreted as an expressionless ice-maiden. But Kangana, got more compliments than leading lady Priyanka Chopra.
"I was treated on par with the other stars. Whenever Rangoli called frantically about my travel or stay arrangements, Rakeshji would tell her not to worry, I'd be fine with them. I was made to feel special," asserted Kangana, happy to put the memory of her previous collaboration with the Roshans, Kites, behind her.
Is she equally confident of Rajjo which is a complete change of image from Krrish 3? "I've never wanted to get stuck to an image and I'm never confident of a film's box-office performance. If it's accepted, I'll be happy, if not, I won't be too disappointed," she shrugged nonchalantly.
And how was it, romancing a teenaged schoolboy Paras Arora, whose on-screen age had to be upped from 18 to 21 following objections from the censors that his character was too young to get married?
"I used to be amused when Paras would tell us that he'd be late coming to the sets because of his board exams. He used to be very shy and our conversations usually centered around school," she laughed, recalling how for a scene where Paras had to put his head on her shoulder he got so nervous that she had to hold his hand and guide him. "At his age, I guess any girl would make him nervous."
Rajjo's music release became a talking point because Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde chose to attend the bash rather than fly to Patna and look up blast victims. Buzz is that she even kept the politician waiting? "My director Vishwas Patel is an IAS officer, Mr Shinde and he have an equation. I'd guess that's why he was there," she reasoned, adding. "I was promoting Krrish 3 at the time and was called at 7.30 pm. I wasn't late."

Salman gone Shirtless Again !!!!
Salman Khan's pecs often have a starring role in their owner's movies and Sohail Khan's Jai Ho will be no different.
Mirror lensman Raju Shelar climbed a tree outside a heavily guarded Worli mill to bring you this sneak peek into an action scene of the film which sees a muddied and bloodied Salman battling it out with the villain, without his shirt of course.
This was Salman's moment of glory as he had spent the past few months on a strict diet and exercise regime, including a food plan comprising only grilled food. And the results are showing. This is Salman in a much leaner avatar.
The film's action director Ravi Verma was spotted guiding the actor through the motions. The team had earlier shot an extended battle scene with more than 2000 artists on the outskirts of Mumbai last week.

Ranbir Kapoor to play Sherlock Holmes .
'Jagga Jasoos' which marks the debut of Picture Shuru Productions, a joint venture of Ranbir Kapoor and director Anurag Basu , will see the actor play an 18-year-old desi Sherlock Holmes who ages through the film.
On Thursday, at an event in Hyderabad, Ranbir confirmed this saying, "Yes, I am playing an 18-year-old in 'Jagga Jasoos'." Shooting will start today in a heavily guarded set in a city studio as the makers don't want the 'look' to be out. A source told TOI that Ranbir is really kicked about playing a teenaged sleuth.

Sharukh Khan's statement for Sachin .
Superstar Shahrukh Khan wants that master blaster Sachin Tendulkar must be allowed to enjoy his last game for India thoroughly. Sachin
is currently playing his 200th and final Test match against the West
Indies at the Wankhede Stadium here. Sachin will bid adieu to
international cricket after the Test match. In the first innings,
Sachin got out after scoring 74 runs. “I think we put too much pressure
on Sachin every time he comes on the crease ‘that you should make 100
run’. This is his last match. We should all allow him to enjoy the match
more than we enjoy him,” the 48-year-old said here at the red carpet of
Nickelodeon Kids Awards Thursday.
“I know him personally and I am worried for him sometimes. I hope he enjoys the match more than we enjoy it and he has a good time saying farewell,” added Shahrukh, who is a fan of the game and owns the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League.

A new Girl For Shahid Kapoor .
Seems
that papa Pankaj Kapur is a worried man since none of his actor son
Shahid Kapoor's liaisons have led to the saath pheras.
In the past few weeks, Pankaj has made quite a few trips to Punjab. A family friend says that the trips were to find a girl for Shahid. Says the source, "Pankaj is really concerned. He is keen to find a nice homely girl for his son and wants to see him settled in a year's time."
But Shahid being Shahid will he agree to an arranged marriage? Adds the source, "Shahid is extremely progressive, and is on a lookout for a life partner who compliments him well. It is possible that it could be a match picked by his father since he trusts his father's judgement more than anybody else's."
When contacted, Pankaj admitted that he has been making frequent trips to Punjab of late, but quickly added that those have been for "other reasons."
When probed further, the veteran actor shared his concern, saying, "It is very normal for a father to want to see his son settled. I want the same for Shahid. However, I am not actively looking out for a match for him. I will whole-heartedly support his choice of a partner."
In the past, Shahid has been in a relationship with Kareena Kapoor and has also reportedly dated Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra.

Salman's Kick goes overseas .
Rarely has a film by Sajid
Nadiadwala not gone abroad for a shoot. But Kick star Salman Khan's
legal troubles resulted in the UK Consulate denying him a visa for the
planned London schedule of the film. However, a Jodhpur court on Tuesday
granted Salman permission to travel abroad.
The actor is still embroiled in the 14-year-old black buck shooting case, but the latest court order may come as a relief to Sajid Nadiadwala who is making his directorial debut with Kick.
Nadiadwala, along with the cast and crew of the film, had camped in Glasgow for three weeks waiting for Salman to arrive. But he was grounded in Mumbai.
The producer-turned-director's troubles did not end there. The film's second schedule, to be shot in an elaborate set in ND Studio in Karjat, has also created conflict between Nadiadwala and the Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union.
Cheered by the latest legal development, Nadiadwala told Mirror that he can now plan a foreign shoot with Salman.
"Travelling abroad with Salman was always on top of my list and now with the court giving him the goahead, I'm sure it will happen this time too," asserted a jubilant Nadiadwala.
MEANWHILE...
Kick is currently at the centre of a conflict between Indian Film And Television Producer's Council (IFTPC) and the Mazdoor Union after workers on the film's elaborate Karjat set demanded pay for one-and-a-half shifts, claiming that the location is outside of Mumbai's city limits andso their remuneration should be upped.
As the conflict escalated, the Union stopped work on the sets of the film which led to Nadiadwala, the president of the IFTPC, sending a stern letter to the Union stating, "With no option left with us, our producer-members to make alternate arrangements to source workers for their requirements of service, since it is inevitably essential for completion of all ongoing work for Films and Television.''
Nadiadwala told this newspaper that though he is hopeful of reconciling with the Mazdoor Union, he has already started shooting bit parts of Kick with a skeletal crew in Karjat where Delhi has been recreated.
"I start shooting with Salman on November 21 and I am hopeful that the issue will be resolved," said Nadiadwala.

r rajkumar latest news
Music review - Rambo Rajkumar relies on Southern sound ..
One had expectations from the music of R... Rajkumar. Not classy or path breaking, but something with a mass appeal that comes with the Prabhu Deva territory.
What one gets in the opening number -- Gandi baat written by Anupam Amod, is a quintessentially Southern sound.
It’s a rowdy number that reminds one of the Bappi Lahiri variety of music composed for many a Jeetendra, Mithun Chakraborty and Govinda starrer.
Gandi baat is sung by Mika Singh who is accompanied by Kalpana Patowary.
Saree Ke Fall Sa strikes as an innovative metaphor for the matters of the heart and is another fun song in this album.
Yet another number with a hardcore South feel to it, it has Nakash Aziz behind the mike with Antara Mitra (who sang in an altogether different mode in Pritam's Bheegi si from Raajneeti). As a remix version follows, that could well make it a hit with DJs.
The ever-reliable Arijit Singh is roped in for Dhokhadhadi, a love song, which follows Pritam's formula for getting a core Indian melodious song out with some good arrangements.
In fact it is surprising that this Nilesh Mitra-written song is not yet out for promotion as it lends a different flavour to the soundtrack, what with Palak Munchhal doing well along with Arijit in this duet.
A fast paced number sung by Kunal Ganjawala, Mat Maari seems straight out of Jeetendra-Jaya Pradha-Sridevi outings from the 1980s.
The album concludes with Kaddu katega, a song best relegated to the end. With lyrics by Ashish Pandit, this one has Antara Mitra going solo behind the mike.
Though the tune is quite fast-paced, the 1960s style number doesn't really come across as inspired even though Antara tries her best.
All hopes for this item number depend on how well it is shot since it doesn't really cut it as a standalone number.
R... Rajkumar starts off well with Gandi baat and Saree ke fall sa but there is an overdose of this sound, and a couple of ordinary numbers dilute the effort to some extent.
One now looks forward to the way the songs are picturised in the film so that they help in the overall narrative.
